Investors Underground Review
Free Facebook Group
Side Note: Come and join our stock trading alerts Facebook group (How To Make Money With Stock Alerts Services)! We also have a Stock Alerts Reviewed YouTube channel which we hope are helpful.
As a new trader it’s helpful to be part of a community of traders so you don’t feel you are battling the market alone!
What I’d recommend instead of Investors Underground: My favorite stock indicator and strategy system that I’ve found after 10 years of trying products!
Nathan Michaud started Investors Underground as a day trading community back in 2009. It is one of the older and biggest chat rooms online.
There are several traders in Investors Underground that are extremely profitable and well-known (not least Nate!). I first came across Nathan Michaud back in 2010 when he worked with Tim Sykes on Profit.ly.
Nate has a different marketing style than other well-known gurus. He doesn’t advertise with Lambos or private jets. His community is huge but relatively low key compared to others.
The Investors Underground provides chatrooms, daily watch lists and education for day traders.
Investors Underground Review: Prices?
As with most of these services, there are multiple different subscription prices depending on length of subscription required and which features and education you want access to.
These guys have a Standard and Elite membership. The Elite just gives you access to the trade recaps and a massive educational library. The difference in the price between the two subscriptions is quite large – about $100 a month.
Standard is $197/month
Elite is $297/month
Since this is not an ‘alerts’ service as such I recommend going for the Elite plan as the educational content value is very high. The plans are typically much lower cost if you commit to longer time periods. For example, the yearly plan is much less than if you were to pay monthly for it.

The daily watch lists are a key part of the service where Nate and the mods share their stock watch lists. The watch lists are decent and include everything you need to know in order to be able to take a trade using it. Usually. they include key levels that must be held or broken for a trade to be executed.
This is a very similar style to Humbled Trader.
If you are looking for direct ‘I am buying $AAPL at $115 now’ style of alerts you might not be very happy with Investors Underground. The approach here is to teach by example not for people to copy trade entries.
It’s an approach that works – better to go with the market than to fight it.
The watch lists are the key to making money in Investors Underground. This is quite different from most alerts services. The lists usually include longs, shorts, small cap and large cap stocks depending on what is coming up on people’s radars.
Investors Underground Review: Trading Chat Rooms
The service has four chat rooms. Three dedicated to trading – strictly business and then a trader’s lounge room. The chat rooms in general have an outdated feel.
- Momentum Chat
- Swing Trading Chat
- Crypto/OTC chat
- Trader’s Lounge
Momentum Chat
The momentum chat is the most popular. It is for day trading lower priced stocks.
Here is a snapshot of the momentum chatroom. At first glance it appears sparse and unhelpful. Apparently, the shorthand terms they use are easy to learn and enable the moderators to trade without writing essays in the chat room.
This is a good way to get around the real problem of day trading and typing to a chat room at the same time!
Swing Trading Chat Room by Michelle
You can check out the service and get a free course here!
The swing trading chat room is not as used as the momentum day trading room. It is still a good resource for people that are looking to swing trade stocks rather than trade intra-day.
Since this is not such a fast-paced room there is more extended dialogues within it. Michelle is known as offshorehunter on Twitter. Here style is primarily swing trading.
Her swing trades usually last 3-7 days but she has been known to hold stocks for weeks if needed. She is a technical trader that uses support and resistance to trade.
Notes on the Momentum Chat Room
Nate Michaud is the main guy, but the focus is not just to follow him. The approach is more about sharing ideas – some people like this and for some it lacks the structure that other trading chat rooms give you.
There is a team effort with the moderators all bringing different skill sets to the table. This gives a wide variety of ideas and styles to choose to learn about.
Learning trading skills is the value here – not following alerts. It is a closer community than most and more professional as well.
Investors Underground Review Elite
As well as the above chat rooms, the Elite subscription also gives you access to trade recaps every week. These recaps are in the video lesson library which is extensive!
While these recap videos are great for beginners – most trades can benefit from them. You can watch how people like Nate handled the same trade that you did for that day and learn from his example.
These add a huge amount of value to the service.
Investors Underground Review: Educational Webinars
The webinars are useful and happen a couple of times a month. They are run by the moderators and include Nate.
The best thing about these webinars is that members can spend time asking questions. This is especially valuable for new traders to learn lots of new techniques and get a better understanding of trading styles etc.
Investors Underground: Day Trading Courses
These are not included in the standard memberships but can be bought as a bundle that includes the memberships. The courses are amazing and some of the best I’ve done. You get the best deal if you buy the bundle.
The two courses are:
- Textbook Trading
- Tandem Trader
The first one is more of a beginner course and the Tandem Trader is more advanced. Both are primarily day trading courses that are well presented and contain excellent material.
If you are going to do the courses, I would make sure to do Textbook Trading first. This way the Tandem Trader material will be easier to follow.
Textbook Trading covers the theory and Tandem Trader shows all of Nates traded for a few months. Nate and Cam do a great job walking through real-life examples of what you learned in Textbook Trading.

Investors Underground Overview Video
I recently did an interview with a subscriber called Andy. He did a great job going into all of the details of his membership with Investors Underground. Here is the video.
Investors Underground Review: Conclusions
It seems that IU is a decent program for day traders of all levels. It does require a time commitment of a few hours a day at the market open usually. They do a decent live trading pre-market briefing which is very useful as well.
I like how professional the chat rooms are and that is very refreshing in an industry of non-stop noobs screaming ‘when lambo?’.
Nate’s strategies have stood the test of time and he seems to be a legit trader with a distinct lack of marketing hype of gimmicks. The focus on actually day trading is great without all the hype and posing you see in most rooms.
In terms of value, it would be hard to find anything better. You can start with the free course from Nate and see if you might find his other premium services useful.
I hope this Nathan Michaud Investors Underground review was helpful.
